Over the last few weeks, there’ve been a number of cool new changes here at The 2.0 Life. In an effort to share them with you and viciously promote the cool new features of the blog, I want to also show you a few cool new things for your own blog, should you have one.
Here are three small, but cool, changes you can make to your own blog to make it even better.

First of all, my sincere apologies to all those who’ve had RSS issues recently. Moving the site made a lot of things difficult, and RSS was one of them. The feed got messed up, and then shortened, and then deleted… problems.
It’s all fixed now, though, and there are a plethora of ways to follow the content of the 2.0 Life. This is one of the best ways to follow the site, as it allows you to get all the posts, well-formatted, in a convenient location.
To subscribe to the site, in any number of different applications, click the big orange logo on the top of the sidebar, on the right of the page, or the one in the left sidebar. I’m all about options, you know?
It’ll give you a ton of different places to subscribe using an RSS reader. If you don’t know what RSS is, I’ll explain in a post soon-to-come. For those of you, though, you can subscribe to the site by email by clicking the link just below the RSS symbol, and following the instructions. We’ll never spam your email, and take your privacy seriously. You’ll get our posts by email, whenever one goes on the site, and it’s a very easy process to subscribe, read, and *gasp* unsubscribe.
If anyone has issues with the feeds for the site, please let me know in the comments or by emailing david [at] the20life [dot] com. Thanks!

To all those coming here from What We’re Into, thanks for sticking with us! This platform (we’re on WordPress now) seems to be working better, and can acommodate everything as we continue to grow. Make sure to bookmark the new link, and stick around! Content won’t change, we’ll keep doing what we’re doing.
What do you think of the new site? Let me know in the comments.

As we head back to the fall, and people start to get busier and schedules return to normal, we here at What We’re Into are changing too!
You’ll be hearing from us about once a day now- sometimes more, never less. It’ll be typically seven days a week, as people seem to want more weekend-love from WWi. Once a day lets us create better, longer, deeper posts that will serve everyone better.
As always, your input is hugely appreciated. What do you want to hear more about? What are we doing well? Poorly? Do you just generally hate us? Let us know in the comments, or send me an email at david (at) whatwereinto (dot) com.
Of course, this is the second post of the day, so I’m lying already. Starting tomorrow, we’ll set into a more normal schedule of some of the best stuff from around the Web, so that everyone can understand and get into it. Whether you’re nine or 90, we want you to be into the Web as much as we are. Well, almost as much as we are- it’s healthier that way.
New Comments System (Plus a Gripe)
January 13, 2009 in Site News
Welcome! If this is your first time here, you may want to subscribe to get updates in your RSS feed reader. Thanks for visiting!
You might notice as you read that there’s a new comment form on the site. That’s because I’ve installed Disqus, an application that manages comments. Here’s why:
1. It works with Facebook Connect, which means you can log in to this site and comment with your Facebook account.
2. YOU now own the comments- if you create a Disqus account, you can moderate and see all your comments through Disqus-enabled blogs, mine and otherwise.
3. Comments are threaded, which means we can have a better, more flowing conversation instead of the @____ replies that break up real conversation.
Here’s my gripe, and maybe I’m missing something: I can no longer see the comments on the site that were there before. They exist in the admin site, but not on the blog itself. It’s really irritating, because I hate to hide the conversations we’ve started over the last few months.
All in all, Disqus is going to be great for The 2.0 Life. I think. At any rate, I’m not changing anytime soon, because I don’t want to lose all these comments again.
What do you think? I definitely appreciate your feedback.
